Edit your entire App Store listing:every locale, one screen

App Store Connect makes you open every language separately to change a subtitle, and it has no undo. MetaRun is the metadata editor App Store Connect should have shipped: every locale on one screen, bulk edits staged as previews, applied through the official API, recorded in a history you can revert from.

Update Nutrio's What's New in every language for 1.15.6

8 locales staged. Promotional text can go live now; the rest rides the 1.15.6 release.

01 · Execution
  1. 01

    Every locale, side by side

Name, subtitle, description, keywords, promotional text, and What's New for all your languages in one workspace, with live character counters against Apple's limits (30, 30, 4000, 100, 170) so nothing invalid can even stage.

  2. 02

Locked surfaces are shown, not discovered

Apple locks listing fields by state: an app in review, a live version, a pending release each freeze different surfaces. MetaRun reads the real editability state per surface and greys out what is locked with the reason, instead of letting you draft an edit that will bounce.

  3. 03

    Stage, preview, apply

Edits accumulate as staged changes in the dock with field-level before/after diffs. One confirm applies the batch through the App Store Connect API; version-gated fields ride your next release, promotional text goes live immediately.

  4. 04

    History with a working undo

Every applied change is recorded: who, what, when, which fields, old and new values. App Store Connect has no undo; MetaRun rebuilds the inverse of any recorded change and stages it as a fresh previewed edit, one tap.

The gap App Store Connect leaves open

App Store Connect is a compliance surface, not an editing tool. Metadata lives one locale per screen, bulk operations do not exist, there is no draft state beyond a version, and a mistaken save simply becomes the new truth. Updating What's New in 28 languages is 28 page loads, and renaming a subtitle across locales is an afternoon.

MetaRun treats the listing as one document with 40 views. Edits happen in place across locales, stage into a single reviewable change set, and apply in one confirmed pass. The official API does the writing, so App Store Connect always agrees with what you see.

A safety model App Store Connect cannot offer

Because every write flows preview, confirm, apply, there is always a moment where you see exactly what will change before it does: field-level diffs, per-locale. Because every applied change is recorded, there is always a way back: the revert engine rebuilds the previous state and runs it through the same preview pipeline, so undoing is as safe as doing.

The editor also knows Apple's own rules: which fields need a new version (name, subtitle, keywords, description) versus which apply instantly (promotional text), and which surfaces are currently locked by review state. Errors you would have discovered from a rejection email surface as greyed-out fields with reasons instead.

Edit by hand, by sentence, or from your editor

The same editing layer answers the manual workspace, MILO, and the MCP server. "Set the promo text everywhere to announce the sale, and schedule it to revert Monday" is a sentence MILO can execute against the identical staged pipeline your hands would use.

For developers who live in their IDE, the MCP server exposes every metadata operation as tools: your coding agent can update What's New from your changelog as part of the release ritual, with the same confirm gate protecting the store.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit App Store metadata for all languages at once?

Yes. App Store Connect only edits one locale per screen; MetaRun shows every locale side by side and stages bulk edits as one previewed change set applied through the official App Store Connect API.

Which App Store metadata can I change without a new version?

Promotional text updates on the live listing instantly with no review. Name, subtitle, keywords, description, and What's New are attached to a version and ship with your next release through App Review.

What are the App Store character limits?

Name and subtitle: 30 characters each. Keywords: 100 characters per locale. Promotional text: 170. Description: 4,000. MetaRun enforces every limit at edit time so a staged change can never be rejected for length.

Is it safe to edit App Store Connect data through the API?

It is the same official API Apple builds for this purpose, authenticated with your own key, which MetaRun stores envelope-encrypted server-side. Every mutation previews first, requires an explicit confirm, and is recorded in a revertible history.

Why is part of my listing locked in App Store Connect?

Apple freezes fields based on app and version state: in-review versions, live versions, and pending releases each lock different surfaces. MetaRun reads the per-surface editability state and shows you what is locked and why, before you type.

Can I undo a metadata change?

In App Store Connect, no: saves are final. In MetaRun, every applied change sits in your history, and revert rebuilds the previous values and stages them as a fresh previewed change. One tap, same safety pipeline.

Is there a faster alternative to the App Store Connect website?

That is what MetaRun is: a full management layer over the official API, with a bulk metadata editor, pricing decks, a screenshot studio, ASO tracking, releases, an AI operator you can instruct in plain language, and an MCP server for your IDE.
