What is purchasing power parity (PPP) pricing?
PPP pricing sets a different price in each country based on local buying power instead of a flat currency conversion. $4.99 is trivial in the US but a meaningful sum in India or Brazil, so charging the converted equivalent everywhere prices you out of most of the world. PPP lowers the price where incomes are lower and (often) raises it where they're higher, which usually grows both downloads and total revenue.
