App Store Connect,from Cursor's agent

Add one URL to Cursor's MCP settings and sign in to MetaRun in your browser. Cursor's agent can then submit builds, stage listing changes in every language and reprice storefronts, next to the code you're editing.

Setup checked October 2026 against Cursor MCP docs, Cursor CLI

01 · Uplink

Connect Cursor to MetaRun

01 · Add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json for one project)

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "metarun": {
      "url": "https://metarun.dev/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

02 · Or use the install link

Opens Cursor with the server filled in.

https://cursor.com/link/mcp/install?name=metarun&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL21ldGFydW4uZGV2L2FwaS9tY3AifQ%3D%3D

03 · Sign in

When Cursor connects, MetaRun opens in your browser. Pick read-only or read and change, and you're back in the editor with the tools listed under MCP.

Prefer a personal access token (scripts, CI)?

Use a token instead

Mint a personal access token in MetaRun under Settings, MCP. It's shown once and can be revoked any time. Cursor reads ${env:METARUN_TOKEN} from your environment. Some Cursor versions start the browser sign-in even when a header is set; if that happens, signing in works the same.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "metarun": {
      "url": "https://metarun.dev/api/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:METARUN_TOKEN}" }
    }
  }
}

03 · Briefing

App Store work next to the code

Cursor's agent already reads your project, so it can pull What's New from the changelog, product ids from the StoreKit configuration and string terms from your localization files. With MetaRun connected, it can act on App Store Connect too: one preview per change, applied when you approve it in Cursor.

04 · Briefing

The MetaRun plug-in for Cursor

The metarun-skills repository is also a Cursor plug-in: the same MCP server plus six written workflows (release handoff, worldwide pricing, listing localization, review inbox, ASO audit, store media) that Cursor's agent can follow step by step.

05 · Comms

Things to ask Cursor

  • Ask Cursor: Use @CHANGELOG.md to write What's New for 2.4 and stage it in every language.
  • Ask Cursor: Create the products in @Configuration.storekit that don't exist in App Store Connect yet.
  • Ask Cursor: Translate the listing into Spanish (Mexico) with keywords researched for that storefront.
  • Ask Cursor: Which reviews mention the widget, and what do they say?

How Cursor asks before a change

Cursor asks before each MCP tool call by default, following your Run Mode settings. Keep MetaRun's apply tools on ask: that prompt is the confirm step for every App Store change. In the Cursor CLI, allow rules live in ~/.cursor/cli-config.json in the form Mcp(server:tool), so you can allow MetaRun's read tools and leave the applies out.

Unattended

The Cursor CLI runs one request without the editor with agent -p. Allow only the read tools the request needs in ~/.cursor/cli-config.json (Mcp(metarun:tool_name) rules), and keep MetaRun's apply tools out of that list.

Read-only check, safe to schedule

agent -p "List my apps and the review state of each one's latest version. Read only." --output-format json

Don't run it with --force for MetaRun: that approves every tool, applies included.

07 · FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to paste an API key into Cursor?

No. Cursor signs in to MetaRun through your browser. Your App Store Connect key stays encrypted on MetaRun's servers and never reaches the editor.

Global or project mcp.json?

Global (~/.cursor/mcp.json) if you want MetaRun in every project, project (.cursor/mcp.json) to scope it to one app's repo. Each person signs in to their own MetaRun account either way.

Can Cursor's agent apply changes by itself?

Only if you've told Cursor to run that tool without asking. Every change is a preview first, and the apply needs the confirm token from that preview.

Which plans include agent access?

Pro ($39 a month), Studio ($99 a month) and the 14-day free trial. Starter doesn't include it.
