Run App Store Connectfrom the AI agent you already use
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Xcode, Claude, Gemini CLI or ChatGPT can read your listing, stage changes and ship releases through MetaRun. Your Apple key stays encrypted on MetaRun's servers, every write is previewed first, and the agent asks you before it applies one.
Which agents work with MetaRun, and how each connects
| Agent | Connects through | Sign-in | Before a change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude CodeAnthropic | MCP server, or the MetaRun plug-in (server + skills) | Browser sign-in via /mcp; token for CI | Asks per tool unless you allow it |
| CodexOpenAI | MCP server (CLI, IDE extension, desktop app) | Browser sign-in on codex mcp add; token for CI | Runs read-only tools, asks before the rest |
| CursorAnysphere | MCP server, or the MetaRun plug-in | Browser sign-in; token optional | Asks per tool, per your Run Mode |
| XcodeApple | Xcode 27 agent plug-in (Claude Agent, Codex, Gemini) | Sign in next to the plug-in | Asks unless the tool is in Allowed Tools |
| ClaudeAnthropic | Custom connector (web, Desktop, mobile, Cowork) | Browser sign-in on Connect | Asks unless set to always allow |
| Gemini CLIGoogle | MCP server, or the MetaRun extension | Browser sign-in on first use; token optional | Asks unless trusted or allowed by policy |
| ChatGPTOpenAI | The MetaRun app for ChatGPT (a curated set of tools) | Browser sign-in when ChatGPT needs your apps | You press Apply on a card; the model can't |
| VS Code and other MCP clientsAny | MCP server over Streamable HTTP | Browser sign-in where supported; token otherwise | The client's own approval prompt |
| metarun CLI and scriptsMetaRun | npx metarun, the same tools from any shell | Personal access token | Applies need the preview's confirm token |
Any other MCP client
If your agent speaks the Model Context Protocol over Streamable HTTP, it can use MetaRun even without a page here. Add the server URL; a client that supports MCP sign-in opens MetaRun in your browser, and one that doesn't can send a personal access token instead.
01 · Server URL
Streamable HTTP. A client that supports MCP sign-in finds it from MetaRun's first response and opens your browser.
https://metarun.dev/api/mcp02 · VS Code (GitHub Copilot agent mode)
Add it to a project .mcp.json; VS Code signs in through your browser.

Mint a personal access token in MetaRun under Settings, MCP. It's shown once and can be revoked any time. Send it as a header:

What every agent connection has in common
The agent never holds your App Store Connect key. It holds a MetaRun token: an hourly OAuth token from the browser sign-in, or a personal access token you minted. Both are revocable in Settings, and your key stays envelope-encrypted on MetaRun's servers, decrypted per request.
Every change comes in two steps. A preview returns the before and after plus a confirm token; the apply only runs with that token and refuses if App Store Connect changed in between. Submitting for review also needs an explicit acknowledge. Each applied change lands in your change history, attributed to the agent, and most can be reverted from there.
Frequently asked questions
Which AI agents can manage App Store Connect through MetaRun?
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Xcode 27's coding assistant (Claude Agent, Codex and Gemini), Claude on the web, Desktop, mobile and Cowork, Gemini CLI, VS Code and any other client that speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP. ChatGPT connects through the MetaRun app for ChatGPT.
Do I have to paste an API key into my agent?
No. Agents sign in to MetaRun through your browser and hold a MetaRun token. Your App Store Connect API key is uploaded once to MetaRun and stays envelope-encrypted there. Personal access tokens exist for scripts and CI.
Can an agent submit my app or change prices without my approval?
Every change is a preview first, with a confirm token the apply needs; if App Store Connect changed in between, the apply refuses. Coding agents ask you before running an apply unless you've allowed that tool, and in ChatGPT only you can press Apply.
What's the difference between the MCP server, the ChatGPT app and the CLI?
The MCP server is the full tool set for agents that ask before each call. The ChatGPT app is a smaller set built for ChatGPT, where changes wait for your click on a card. The metarun CLI calls the same tools from a shell or CI with a personal access token.
Is there a free App Store Connect MCP server?
Yes, several open-source ones run locally with your .p8 key on disk. MetaRun's is hosted: no key on your machine, previews before every write, a change history with revert, and the pricing engine, screenshot studio and ASO tools alongside App Store Connect.
Which plans include agent access?
Pro ($39 a month) and Studio ($99 a month), and the 14-day free trial with no card. Starter covers the dashboard and MILO chat, without agent access.
